Chronic Hepatitis B

chronic-hepatitis-b“Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). Hepatitis B is transmitted when blood, semen, or another body fluid from a person infected with the Hepatitis B virus enters the body of someone who is not infected. This can happen through sexual contact; sharing needles, syringes, or other drug-injection equipment; or from mother to baby at birth. For some people, hepatitis B is an acute, or short-term, illness but for others, it can become a long-term, chronic infection. Risk for chronic infection is related to age at infection: approximately 90% of infected infants become chronically infected, compared with 2%–6% of adults. Chronic Hepatitis B can lead to serious health issues, like cirrhosis or liver cancer.” (

In areas of low prevalence of hepatitis B, including the US, sexual transmission and percutaneous transmission (needling sharing) during adulthood are the main modes through which it spreads. Whereas in areas of high prevalence, such as Asia, the predominant mode of transmission is from mother to baby at birth. As mentioned earlier, infants are much more likely to become chronically infected with hepatitis B.

Although medical treatment has evolved over the past few decades, chronic hepatitis B remains the major contributor to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a liver cancer. While pharmaceutical medications may be necessary for decreasing viral load and liver inflammation, patients with chronic hepatitis B need to know that natural treatment, especially homeopathy, can be tremendously helpful in achieving the same goal. Homeopathy can be used alone, or in conjunction with pharmaceutical medications. Patients with chronic hepatitis B, as with other chronic viral diseases, often show an imbalanced immune system. Dr. Song’s treatment is a balanced strategy focusing on immune modulation, direct antivirals, and liver support. The protocol can potentially decrease the likelihood of drug resistance when used in addition to medications. In certain patient populations, such as pregnant women and patients on immunosuppressants, pharmaceutical drugs may be contraindicated, and homeopathy may be the only suitable and effective treatment choice.
